Introduction
I had just started charting again after the birth of my now 12 month old son. It took 12 long months to conceive him and we never figured out why. We assumed it would take a while again. I was still breastfeeding, and my cycles were very irregular. I started charting to see what was going on with my body. The first cycle I charted was long, but ended up having a very short luteal phase once I finally ovulated. The next cycle I started to think was just going to be anovulatory, my temperatures were everywhere, they would go up for just a day and then fall back down again. However, either on CD 26 or 30 I finally did ovulate. After a while they started to look a lot like a pregnant cycle, there was an implantation dip, and then a rise above where it had been before. I was going to wait until CD 44 to test, but on day 41 I was crying about every little think (especially child or baby related) and decided, what the heck it can't hurt to test, and to my complete shock a postive showed up almost immediately.
Trying-to-Conceive (TTC) experience
I had an extremely hard time when I was ttc my first child. I expected to conceive right away, and we didn't I was totally shocked. I had huge breakdowns every month when my period came. I didn't want to talk to friends with babies or who were pregnant. As soon as he was conceived I felt better. This time around I expected it to take a long time and was ok with that, and honestly, even counting on it.
Charting Experience
Well, for one thing, if it weren't for charting I would have no clue that I'm pregnant right now :)
I think charting is fascinating. I love to watch my charts and see what is going on with my body. I love to know when I've ovulated and to be able to predict when my period is coming. However, in the process of TTC, it became very stressful after a while.
